Yes or No

Updated: Feb 17, 2021

“Lookee here,” he said. “I told you ‘YES.’ When I can’t do it no more, I’ll tell you ‘NO!’”

Yes and no. Power words. Powerful words. The will or won’t of a decision. The on or off of a switch. The plus or minus of an equation. The dot or dash of Morse code. The 1 or 0 of computer code. The black on white of written clarity. The morality of right or wrong. The difference between commitment or just talk. The “count on me” of commitment. The bond of your word.

Maybe that’s why Jesus said, “Let your yes be yes and your no be no.” It often takes courage to SAY “yes.” it always takes commitment to BE “yes” in practice.

Yes or no. Say it and be it. That’s integrity.

Make sure you say “Yes” to what you mean to. Anything less is a "No."
