A head and shoulders picture of Chaplain Gary

Hello

I enjoy supporting people on their journey through life by offering encouragement and counsel at life's key moments!  Sometimes, that's at a key decision point.  Other times it's a life-event like a wedding or even a funeral.  Ministry has taken many forms for me-- a pastor, chaplain, and public speaker!  What's going on in your world right now?

My Story

Gary D. Gilmore served the State of Missouri and our Nation as a Chaplain in the Missouri National Guard for almost 33 years.  During that time, he deployed three times supporting Operation Noble Eagle, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Enduring Freedom. Within our state borders he responded to floods, ice storms, and severe storms including the Joplin Tornado-- for which he received the Missouri Meritorious Service Medal.  In 2021, Gary was presented the prestigious Martin of Tours award… the highest award given by the Chaplains Regiment of the United States Army for his career of service and pastoral care.

Now retired, Chaplain Gilmore continues to serve the community consulting with local churches, promoting VFW Post 4541, and working with the Missouri State Emergency Management Agency to stand up a Volunteer Chaplaincy to serve in times of natural disaster.  He also founded and directs Missouri Chaplain Services, a not-for-profit corporation that provides training and resources to fellow veterans, and caregivers.
